BitNet01 Festival – 2020

The Festival’s second edition took place on January 18 and 19, 2020, at the self-managed space “Grizzly” in Fano (Marche, Italy).
We intended to enclose a variety of artists*, musicians*, DIY makers, and performers in a two-day festival coming no longer from the local scene but from a glocal panorama.

The philosophy of this Festival was more or less the same as the first edition but much more expanded. There were four workshops (Live Coding with ORCA curated by Giorgio Alloatti, Modular Synthesis by Tommy Vecchiarelli, Lathe Cutting by Coward Records, and Light Painting by Mattia Stefanini), two multimedia and interactive installations (collective “Clon_E”), two talks (Eugenio Giordani from the LEMS laboratory of the conservatory “G. Rossini” in Pesaro and Rodolfo Cangiotti), an illustrative exhibition curated by Nicola Fucili and Matteo Cascetti and eight live performances with artists from the European experimental music scene.

The performers/musicians who participated in this edition were: Rashad Becker (Germany), Roy Carroll (Ireland/Germany), M_oo from the HackLab collective in Turin (Italy), Panthalassa and Marco di Battista (Macerata, Italy), Carlo Maria (Milan, Italy), Fluxwarp aka Tommy Vecchiarelli (Fano, Italy), Eugenio Giordani (Conservatorio “G. Rossini” in Pesaro, Italy) and the BitNet Laptop Ensemble (Fano, Italy).
